Choose Uniform if
Several sources, one editor
You run more than one CMS or commerce tool, want to keep them, and need marketers to compose and personalize pages across all of them.
These two are often compared, but they solve different problems. Contentstack is a headless CMS that has grown into a platform with personalization, a customer data platform and front-end hosting. Uniform is a composition layer that sits on top of your CMS, commerce and search tools, and lets teams build pages from all of them in one visual editor.
Sengo works with Uniform without a partnership, and we are not a Uniform reseller. Contentstack is not among our implementation partners. Neither vendor benefits from our recommendation.
TL;DR
Uniform fits when your content already lives in several systems and you don't want to replace them. It gives marketers one visual editor across those sources, with personalization and A/B testing built in. The trade-off is that it still needs a content source underneath and starts at a higher price.
Contentstack fits when you want one vendor for content, personalization, customer data and front-end hosting. It has a free plan, low-cost entry tiers and a choice of cloud provider on Enterprise. The trade-off is that pages from other systems stay outside its editor, and leaving later means migrating content.
You don't have to choose only one. Uniform has a documented Contentstack integration, so many teams can keep Contentstack as the content source and add Uniform on top.

If you want to keep your systems and unify the editing
If you want one headless platform from one vendor
This is not an either-or decision. Uniform documents a Contentstack integration, so teams can keep Contentstack as the content source and add Uniform where they need it.
Adding a composition layer
Main effort driver: rebuilding page layouts as compositions
Consolidating onto one platform
Main effort driver: consolidating content from several sources
Partly. Both help marketers build and personalize pages. But Contentstack stores your content, and Uniform composes content stored elsewhere. They overlap on visual editing and personalization, and they can run together.
Yes. Uniform documents a Contentstack integration for visual composition, for adding personalization to an existing Contentstack site, and for combining several stacks in one project.
Contentstack, at the start. It has a free plan, a US$29 per month Build plan and a US$299 per month Growth plan. Uniform Lite starts at US$12,000 per year. At enterprise scale both are quote-based, and Contentstack Personalize is priced separately, so compare full quotes.
Uniform includes edge personalization and A/B testing that work across every connected source. Contentstack offers Personalize and the Lytics CDP on Enterprise, which suits teams that want customer data and content from one vendor.
Neither vendor lists a Canadian region publicly. Uniform offers US and EU regions. Contentstack runs North American and European instances and offers custom data residency on Enterprise. If Canadian residency is required, ask both vendors in writing.

This comparison is general. The right answer depends on how many systems you run and which ones you plan to keep. Let's map your stack together.
